Eloise King

Eloise King is an award-winning filmmaker who adopts an interdisciplinary approach to telling complex stories that foreground marginalised perspectives within popular culture. Her work draws on over 10 years of journalism, fashion, youth cultures, and social justice documentary insights working across Broadcast and digital media for: BBC, Channel 4, Al Jazeera English and VICE,  ITV and MTV. 

As a former Global Executive Producer at VICE  she led a multi-award-winning international documentary team, commissioning across North America, South America, Europe and Asia. Her previous titles, as a director and/or producer, include: THE GATHERINGS (Grierson nominated), KIDS BEHIND BARS (ITV, A&E), PINS & NEEDLES (Broadcast Award nominated), ACID ATTACKS and GURLS TALK (LOVIE/WEBBY). In addition her work has been exhibited at The Tate Britain, V&A, and MoAD.

Recently, Eloise has directed an anthemic spot for Barbie in conjunction with radio presenter Clara Amfo and Milk Honeybee's charity celebrating girlhood and girls' limitless potential, Eloise's ability to highlight and champion underrepresented voices does not stop there, her Nike Women’s commercial “We’ve Always Done It”, also leans into topics around body confidence. Eloise was praised for the authentic and naturalistic way that she captured such a diverse cast of powerful, vibrant women.

In 2019, Eloise also directed the PSA for UK charity CoppaFeel! becoming the first ad on British daytime TV to show a female nipple. Created by Fold7, the campaign is designed to appeal to those who are less likely to examine themselves for signs of breast cancer, including cisgender men and members of the transgender community.

Eloise is a 2020 Field of Vision fund, Firelight Media Documentary Lab and Logan Non-fiction Fellowship grantee and winner of John Brabourne Award.  She is also an alumna of Sheffield Documentary Festivals ‘Future Producers’ and Edinburgh TV Festival' ‘Ones To Watch’.  In 2018/2020, Eloise was recognized for ‘Outstanding Achievement’ in Campaigns’ list of future female leaders defining creativity.

Eloise is currently in production on her first feature documentary project.
