Marie Constantinesco

“I make bread, ibakefilms.” – Marie C.

Marie is a French director and photographer known for her natural, poetic approach to capturing unexpected beauty.

Her own experience cooking taught her to embrace textures and imperfections, infusing a subtle yet fresh mood into her work. Using non-traditional framing and composition, she creates appetizing visual narratives that have a touch of humor and a sense of humanity.

Prior to turning to filmmaking and obtaining her MFA from NYU Tisch School of the Arts, she studied law and English literature at Cambridge University and Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne.

Marie channels her passion for cooking and filming into the webseries she writes and directs, My life in sourdough (TriBeCa Film Festival 2015). She was also featured in SHOOT’S New Directors Showcase 2016.
