Born in Louisiana, and raised in Texas, Matt Morgan is a director/DP, photographer, editor, and motion designer based in Brooklyn. After convincing his parents that homeschool was a more financially efficient option than private school, Matt spent his formative years honing his filmmaking craft instead of learning calculus. Matt left his days foraging the Texas deserts behind in order to attend NYU’s film school, where his blend of skill sets led him on a path to tabletop directing. While at NYU, he met his future business partners and eventually founded Yacht Club.
Matt’s directing style is defined by his sharp, clean aesthetic. He strives to maintain a seamless marriage between inventive visuals and smooth, effortless pacing to provide a captivating end product. Bright colors, thoughtful compositions, and unique graphical integrations are common throughout his work. Matt’s background in graphic design and cinematography allow for him to design and create spots both in live action tabletop, and 3D animation. Given the level of detail in his work, Matt often carries his projects through the edit, motion design, and visual effects. Often, he provides a consistent look to a campaign by shooting still photographs as well. Matt has directed spots and content for clients such as Burger King, Lipton, Gillette, Papa John’s, Baskin Robbins, and Maybelline.
