Michael Middelkoop is a young director who has uniquely navigated both hemispheres of the creative game.

On the one hand, he’s a filmmaker who started out chopping up kinetic video edits while  still in film school, to becoming one of the more promising young directors in the game and working with the nation’s biggest artists and touring film festivals with his surreal approach to fictional storytelling.

On the other hand, he’s a creative polymath, providing concepts for endless international agencies and celebrated for his freeform creative approach to film. His talents have earned him various awards over the years with festivals like CCB, Spin Awards, Cannes Lions, Lovies, Young Dutch Talent and many more.

With a background in advertising, he’s not afraid to help mould the conventional 30-second spot to a mix-and-mash playhouse that caters to audiences around the world. In his work, Michael likes to play around with combining the normal and the absurd in singular visual worlds.
