Sergio Granados is a Mexican film director who knows that the best work is made in a collaborative environment built on creative respect and a dedication to craft. Born in Chihuahua, México, he started his film education at The London Film School. After graduating from an MFA at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA, he returns to his home country to start his career as one of the most flamboyant and versatile filmmakers in the market.
Focusing firstly on music videos, his debut piece for “Twisted Sister” by the regional-electronic band Kinky, achieved him a nomination in the US MTV Music Video Awards. In the following years, his vast participation in other music videos helped him forge a wide range of styles, directing both for mainstream pop artists and for a new wave of urban figures in the likes of Dillon Francis, Adriel Favela, Mala Rodríguez, Jesse Baez, among others.
In 2017 he founded LOVSTER, one of the most important production companies in the Mexican market. Within his company he has directed ads for clients such as Nissan, Pepsi, Reebok, Gatorade, GMC, among others, and has worked with celebrities like Diego Luna, Eli Manning and Luis Gerardo Méndez.
Sergio’s adaptable filmmaking, going from jaw dropping dynamic and visual ads to clever and polished institutional pieces, has made him creditor of various accolades including both the Cannes Lions and the Cíclope Awards.
Sergio is represented in the US General Market by Baby Lion Media and HARRY in Europe.
