While still in high school Zipho made it through to the national round in the 2010 South African Talent Championships for acting, receiving 2 silver awards and a gold plus, ranking him at no.3 in the whole of South Africa, gaining him a trip to America to participate in the AMTC convention, from which he returned with a finalist award for best actor. After school Zipho obtained a degree in Film Production from the Tshwane University of Technology in Pretoria and then went on to study Television and Screen Arts at the Academy of Television in Johannesburg. 

He joined Bioscope in 2017 as an Assistant Director working closely on all their productions and shadowing the directors. In 2019 he started directing and in a short time has made some stand out work. His passion, energy and big heart comes across in his work and love for his craft.

His work for “Yoco” won a CICLOPE AFRICA award for NEW TALENT in 2020 and his short film “Boys Have Feeling Too” won BEST EMERGING CREATIVE TALENT at The Bokeh Fashion Film Festival in 2019.
